Susanna Sharpe is an Austin-based musician, writer, and editor. She has been part of the Austin music scene for many years as a singer and bandleader specializing in Brazilian music. During the COVID pandemic, she began to host a series of performances by Austin musicians on their front lawn in an effort to uplift the spirits of neighbors and friends, and to provide a safe venue for musicians. Susanna is the mother of two musicians who went through AISD schools and are now professional performers on their instruments. Each of them witnessed, and benefited from, Austin Jazz Workshop performances firsthand.
